Custom SOMA Laboratory Lyra-8 Organismic Synthesizer Bundle w/ Tuner + Decksaver
Custom SOMA Laboratory Lyra-8 Organismic Synthesizer Bundle w/ Tuner + Decksaver
Couldn't load pickup availability
For sale: SOMA Lyra-8 in excellent condition with the original power supply. This bundle includes a modified Korg STK1 tuner (piezo removed and included in case you wish to add it back), a genuine SOMA Decksaver, a 1-foot and 3-foot set of patch cables, rechargeable batteries for the tuner, with charger included, and command strips to mount the tuner.
The Lyra-8 is SOMA's flagship 8-voice organismic synthesizer, known for its chaotic modulation paths, nonlinear feedback reactions, and expressive touch-plate interface. The STK1 has been modified so it works strictly from its line input, which gives you clean, stable tuning without picking up room noise. This bundle solves the biggest practical hurdle of the Lyra platform: precise tuning, especially for drones and paired-voice harmonics. Fully tested and ready to play.
This bundle was purchased by Captain Black for personal use, but we're a bit overextended on inventory thanks to some amazing opportunities, so we're putting this up for sale for the time being. Should a number of other items sell first, we'll pull this listing down.
Details below:
Fully tested and verified. All controls, touch sensors, and functions operate correctly.
Includes the original 12V DC power supply.
The Korg STK1 is brand-new. It's in mint condition, aside from the fact the piezo mic has been removed (there was no way to disable it, so we did it the old-fashioned way). The piezo mic is included if you wish to add it back, but it picks up room noise and anything else in the environment, which makes tuning more difficult.
Batteries for the tuner and the battery charger are brand-new. The Korg STK1 boasts up to 50 hours of use per charge. We have not verified this, but the charger and eight batteries are more than enough to keep the tuner operating without it becoming an annoyance.
There is one extremely minor dent on the bottom front-left corner of the Lyra-8. You likely would not have noticed had we not disclosed it.
The Decksaver is overall in excellent condition, but there are some minor blemishes. See photo 19.
The SOMA Lyra-8 is an eight-voice analog organismic synthesizer built around Soma's nonlinear "organismic" synthesis philosophy. It features 16 touch-activated pitch contacts, per-voice tuning, cross-modulation between paired voices, and a complex internal feedback architecture that encourages evolving, unstable, and organic sonic behavior. Its dual analog delay lines, Hyper LFO modulation system, and integrated analog overdrive expand the palette far beyond traditional synthesizers, allowing everything from drifting drones to chaotic textures and living, breathing tonal structures. The Lyra-8's rugged metal enclosure, tactile touch interface, and semi-modular internal routing make it a powerful performance and sound-design instrument, ideally suited for ambient, experimental, cinematic, and noise-driven work.
Is it easy to tame? NO. Is it easy to tune and keep in tune? NO. Do you always want to tune it? NO WAY. Does it sound like nothing else on earth? YES. Does it open up all kinds of creative possibilities for your productions? MOST DEFINITELY :)
