For sale: OEM display for a Virus C Desktop. We cannot confirm fitting beyond the C Desktop (It will not fit a KC, but may fit the Indigo Redback). As for condition, we would say this screen is 90% as good as it was when new. Adjusting the contrast does indeed make it clearly visible (more so than the camera shows, as the camera picks up quite a bit of the backlight, which makes the characters stand out less).

Virus C (Desktop): The Virus C desktop model features an LCD screen with a distinctive red/orange backlight and adjustable contrast. This allows the display to switch between black text on a red/orange background or red/orange text on a darker background, depending on the contrast setting controlled by a dial. This design is a defining visual characteristic of the Virus C.

Indigo II Redback: The Indigo II Redback, a limited-edition version of the Indigo 2 (which itself is based on the Virus C engine), aligns closely with the Virus C desktop in terms of screen design. It features the same red/orange backlight style as the Virus C, consistent with its black-and-red aesthetic. While specific details about contrast adjustment for the Redback are less documented, its classification as a Virus C-series synth suggests it likely uses a screen similar to the desktop Virus C rather than the KC.

Virus KC (Keyboard): The Virus KC, which is essentially the Virus C engine in a 61-key keyboard format, has a screen that appears different in some instances. Reports and user observations suggest that the KC's screen typically displays orange text on a black background, and unlike the desktop Virus C, it lacks a contrast adjustment dial to alter this configuration. This indicates a potential difference in either the screen hardware or its implementation, despite the two models sharing the same synthesis engine.
