For sale: E-MU Proteus 2000 synthesizer sound module in very good cosmetic condition. We've installed a new encoder and a brand-new modern replacement power supply. Updated to OS 2.26.

Details below:

Brand-new modern replacement power supply installed (see photo 15).
New encoder installed (see photo 16).
The installed sound ROM passes diagnostics (see photo 17).
No yellowing of the grey plastic buttons and knobs. Nce, bright display.
Updated to OS 2.26 using emu.tools, which is apparently now flashing all Proteus 2000s with the XL Turbo firmware. This installation displays the Xtreme Lead Turbo startup screen, but is otherwise identical to the Proteus 2000 firmware and does not affect OS 2.26 functionality.
There is a fairly significant scratch on the top that is hidden once the unit is rack mounted (see photo 18). Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to document the condition.

The Proteus 2000 puts a remarkably deep sound engine into a single rack space. It has 128 voices and 32-part multitimbral operation, so it can cover plenty of parts in a hardware or computer-based arrangement. Four-layer presets, E-MU's Z-plane filters, and extensive modulation let you take the sounds well beyond their starting points, from straightforward basses and keys to sweeping pads and more unusual textures. Dual effects processors and six analog outputs make it useful both as a self-contained sound source and as part of a larger studio setup.
