For sale: Access Virus TI Snow desktop synthesizer in perfect working order and excellent cosmetic condition. This is a very clean, well-serviced Snow with all new tact switches, a new LCD bezel, a fresh battery, and its original box. They don't show up like this very often these days. While not perfect, this is still a beautiful instrument.
Details below:
All tact switches have been replaced with new brand-name tacts rated for 3 million clicks. These are soft-touch and very similar in feel and sound to the originals.
Installed a new LCD bezel.
Installed a new Energizer CR2032 lithium battery.
Thoroughly cleaned inside and out.
The finish has some slight yellowing. The difference in tone is visible with the LCD bezel removed (see photo 21), but is concealed once the new bezel is installed (see photo 12).
There are a few minor imperfections in the finish (see photos 22-23) and some blemishes on the underside of the wooden front plate (see photo 24). Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to document the condition.
The TI Snow is the micro version of the monster TI/TI2 series, packing the same unmistakable Virus sound into a compact desktop format. It is 4-part multitimbral and includes the full Virus wavetable engine, extensive modulation options, onboard effects, and audio streaming over USB via the Total Integration plugin in supported operating systems. Despite its small footprint, it remains a very capable and much sought-after studio companion.
Mac and Windows 11 users, please do your homework before buying if you intend to use the original Total Integration plugin. The Access software is a legacy system, and compatibility depends on your operating system, DAW, and USB setup. It works perfectly in Windows 10 and is an absolute thing of beauty in Windows 10 / Cubase 15. Some users report it also works fine in Windows 11, but we have not personally tested this. Virux is a promising third-party project working to bring Virus TI integration to modern systems, including Apple Silicon Macs. It is still in development, so please check its current release status and support for your exact hardware and software before relying on it. The synth can also be used independently of the TI plugin through its standard MIDI and audio connections.
Sale includes the synth, original box, high-quality aftermarket power supply, a high-quality, heavily shielded 1.5 m (4.92 ft) USB cable designed for audio streaming over USB, and free shipping to the continental US.

- Synthesis: Virus TI digital synthesis in a compact desktop module, combining virtual analog sounds with wavetable, HyperSaw, grain, and formant oscillator modes.
- Voice Architecture:
- Single-DSP engine with dynamic polyphony, typically around 10-50 voices depending on patch complexity and effects.
- 4-part multitimbral operation for playing or sequencing four sounds independently; available processing power is shared across the parts.
- Oscillators: Three oscillators per voice with classic and digital sound sources
- Classic mode includes saw and pulse waveforms, variable pulse width, and a selection of 64 spectral waves covering sine, triangle, and brighter digital timbres.
- HyperSaw stacks up to nine saw waves per oscillator, with adjustable density and local detuning for wide pads, thick basses, and the big layered leads the Virus is known for.
- Wavetable scanning with adjustable interpolation lets transitions move from smooth harmonic changes to deliberately stepped digital motion.
- Grain and formant modes reshape wavetable material into more complex textures. Formant shifting is particularly useful for vocal-like movement and dramatic changes in tone.
- FM and oscillator sync provide additional ways to create metallic sounds, sharper harmonics, and sweeping lead textures.
- Filters: Two multimode filters per voice with flexible routing
- Lowpass, highpass, bandpass, and band-stop responses for everything from rounded basses to narrow, resonant sweeps.
- Serial routing passes the sound through both filters in sequence. Parallel routing blends two separately filtered paths for more complex tonal shaping.
- Analog Filter mode models a Minimoog-style cascade filter, with slopes from 6 to 24 dB per octave and self-oscillation.
- Filter saturation adds drive and extra harmonics, with different saturation types offering both warmer overdrive and more abrasive digital colors.
- Modulation:
- Three LFOs with free-running or tempo-synchronized operation, plus dedicated amplifier and filter envelopes.
- Six modulation-matrix slots, each routing a source to as many as three destinations.
- Effects and Processing: Independent processing for the Snow's four multitimbral parts
- Each part can have its own delay and reverb, allowing a dry bass, spacious pad, and echoing lead to retain their individual treatments in one setup.
- Chorus and phaser add width, movement, and swirling modulation to individual sounds.
- Ring modulation and frequency shifting extend the palette into metallic, dissonant, and experimental textures.
- Distortion and 3-band EQ provide additional control over each part's edge and tonal balance.
- Effects share the available DSP resources with the synth engine. More demanding patches and effects combinations reduce available polyphony.
- Arpeggiator: Programmable 32-step patterns with MIDI clock synchronization for rhythmic bass lines, chord patterns, and animated sequences.
- Memory: 512 RAM patches, 512 ROM patches, and 64 Multi locations for storing four-part setups.
- Controls:
- Dedicated cutoff and resonance knobs, three value knobs beneath the LCD, and direct access to the main editing sections.
- Easy mode presents key parameters; Expert mode opens the deeper sound engine.
- Connectivity:
- Stereo analog outputs and stereo analog inputs for routing external audio through the synth's filters and effects.
- The left output also accepts headphones. MIDI In/Out and USB support hardware and computer-based setups.
- Total Integration: The original Virus Control plugin provides software editing, recall, and USB audio in compatible legacy systems. Standard MIDI and analog audio operation remain available independently of the plugin.
- Sound and Workflow: A small-footprint source of wide pads, punchy basses, detailed leads, and evolving digital textures, with enough depth for programming individual sounds or building four-part arrangements.
