For sale: Access Virus TI desktop digital synthesizer in very good cosmetic condition and perfect working order. This TI has a few more battle scars than normal, but is a great opportunity to get into a fully serviced TI for a lower price than we normally offer.
Ships with an aftermarket power supply and your choice of a new high-quality, heavily shielded 1M (3.28 ft, photographed) or 1.5M (4.92 ft) USB cable optimized for audio streaming over USB. We recommend using the shortest cable possible for your setup if you intend to use the Total Integration plugin. Happy to swap in a standard 6-ft USB cable if you do not intend to use the TI plugin.
Details below:
All 43 tact switches have been replaced with high-quality, brand-name tact switches rated for 3 million clicks. They are soft-touch and very close in feel and sound to the original tact switches. See photos 20-23. Four pots have been replaced (see photo 21 for three of them). All are now in perfect working order and generally have the same resistance. The LCD display is nice and bright, with both backlights functioning as intended. The LCD bezel has been polished to look its best (see photo 18). Ships with a high-quality aftermarket power supply. The battery has been replaced with an Energizer CR2032 lithium cell. You should not need to replace the battery for ~10 years (see photo 24). Updated to the latest OS (5.1.7). We have cleaned the unit thoroughly inside and out. Even the knobs have been cleaned and look nearly new. No white or greasy buildup like you commonly see on Viruses from this era. While the overall look of this synth is very good, it is not perfect. There are several imperfections in the finish on the front / faceplate (see photos 25-28), imperfections in the finish on the rear (see photos 15-17), a microcrack in the upper left corner of the LCD bezel (see photo 18), and two moderately sized dings in the left wood panel (see photos 7 and 29). The bezel crack appears to be from being overtightened. Do not overtighten it and it will be fine long term. We may replace the side panels with walnut if we have time, but for now, we are offering this unit at a lower price.
With all the restoration and maintenance work done, this TI desktop is well prepared for its next life.
