Sold: Access Virus TI desktop digital synthesizer in excellent condition. This unit is exceptionally clean for its age. As usual, we've given it a full inspection and upgraded a few things along the way.
Details below:
All 43 tact switches have been replaced with new brand-name tacts rated for 3 million clicks (see photos 21-23). These have a softer feel and longer life than the tacts we typically use. We will be using these going forward on all Virus restorations. The LCD bezel is in excellent condition and has been polished to look its best (see photo 19). This unit has been completely disassembled and cleaned inside and out. There is no residue build-up that you typically see on the knobs of Viruses from this era. A new Energizer lithium cell CR2032 battery has been installed (see photo 24). Sale includes a new, high-quality power supply that runs at 12V, 3.0 amps (more than enough to power the unit, meaning the PSU will run cool). Includes 1M (3.28 ft) HQ USB cable designed for audio over USB. This cable is highly shielded and is the best cable you can use if you intend to use the Total Integration app in your DAW. If you plan to use MIDI, we are happy to swap in a 6 ft cable for standard USB connectivity. Updated to the latest OS (5.1.7). There are a number of minor blemishes in the finish on the chassis and in the wood sides (see photos 25-29). Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to document the condition.
The Virus TI is an iconic monster of a polyphonic, multitimbral synthesizer. With 64 waveforms, 72 wavetables, two filters, three LFOs, an advanced modulation matrix, a full suite of effects, and more, the sonic possibilities are virtually endless. The TI offers up to 80 voices of polyphony and is 16-part multitimbral, with three stereo outputs as well as audio streaming over USB via the Total Integration VST (VST, AU, AAX), which is an absolute thing of beauty on supported operating systems.
Mac users: please do your homework before purchasing. The Total Integration app is not compatible with the latest versions of macOS. The app works well on Windows 10. Users also report it works fine on Windows 11, but we have not personally verified this. We encourage buyers to research compatibility carefully if they plan to use the Total Integration app. Feel free to reach out to us with questions.
