Access Virus Classic Desktop, Near-Mint w/ All New Tacts, Partial Recap, New Display + PSU

For sale: Access Virus Classic Desktop digital synthesizer in near-mint cosmetic condition and perfect working order. This is another extremely clean Virus Classic, and they generally do not show up often like this. Key maintenance work has been completed to help ensure the longevity of this beautiful Virus Classic.

All tact switches have been replaced with high-quality, brand-name tact switches rated for 3 million clicks. They are soft-touch and very close in feel and sound to the original tact switches (see photo 24).
6 potentiometers that were starting to wobble were replaced (see photo 24 / the shiny ones).
Partial main board recap, including the power supply filter capacitor and the one set of twin regulator caps (see photo 21).
The LCD display has been replaced with a modern display that closely matches the original OEM colors (see photo 22 for a shot from the inside).
The power switch has been replaced, eliminating another common failure point on the Virus desktop series.
Ships with a high-quality 9V 2.0A power supply that provides more reliable operation than the original 12V 1.0A supplies these units originally shipped with. The lower voltage allows the unit to run noticeably cooler, especially during extended sessions.
The battery has been replaced with a new Energizer CR2032 lithium cell. You should not need to replace the battery for ~10 years (see photo 23).
Running OS 4.9 (the latest for this series).
We have cleaned the unit thoroughly inside and out. There is no residue or buildup commonly seen on Virus units from this era.
The overall look of this unit is excellent and very close to mint, but it is not perfect. There are a few very minor imperfections in the finish. There is a scratch on the rear of the unit through the "C" in Classic (see photo 25). There are a few more very minor imperfections in the finish and few imperctions on the wood sides. There is also a small scratch on the bottom (see poto 20). Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to document the condition.

This is one of the more beautiful Virus synths we've worked on lately. With all new tact switches, a partial main board recap, new display, new power switch, new battery, and other work completed, this Virus Classic is well prepared for its next life.
