Sold: Access Virus C Desktop in excellent condition. This is one of the cleaner C Desktops that's come through the shop. As usual, we have given this unit a thorough inspection and upgraded a few things along the way.
Details below:
All tact switches have been replaced with new, brand-name tacts rated for 1 million clicks. All function perfectly, like new. 3 wobbly potentiometers have been replaced with clones that are generally indistinguishable from the OEM ALPS pots, which are no longer in production. The original Nichicon power supply filter capacitor was replaced with a new Nichicon UHE1E101MED (100µF/25V, low-ESR) capacitor. Its high ripple current handling and low ESR minimize heat, ensuring exceptional reliability and performance for this beautiful Virus C Desktop. A new Energizer CR2032 lithium cell has been installed, so you should not need to replace the battery for the next ~10 years. Includes a new high-quality power supply rated at 12V 3.0A (plenty of headroom, runs cool). This synth had no feet installed when we received it. We installed 4 rubber feet (see photo 19). The synth has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, including the knobs. There is no sticky residue or buildup commonly seen on many Virus units of this era. There are a handful of imperfections in the finish. Please examine all photos carefully. Most notably, there is a scuff in the finish (lower right, see photo 22), a few blemishes on the front (see photo 23), a few blemishes on the back (see photos 16-18), and a minor mark or two on the rubberized wood sides. None detract from the overall clean look on this one.
