If you would like more power to create larger, more complex sessions utilizing world-class plug-ins, this is a great first step. It took us about 5 minutes to fall in love with UAD, and Captain Black now runs a rig with three OCTO cards. This allowed us to move to much larger and more complex sessions without constantly bouncing tracks, freezing channels, printing effects, or compromising during the mixing process. Instead of committing early, we are able to leave compressors, EQs, tape emulations, reverbs, and mastering processors fully live and adjustable throughout production, mixing, and mastering.

The UAD-2 OCTO Core is Universal Audio's flagship eight-processor PCIe DSP accelerator, designed to provide substantial dedicated processing power for running UAD plug-ins on Mac and Windows systems with minimal host CPU impact. Featuring eight onboard SHARC processors, the OCTO is ideal for demanding tracking, mixing, and mastering sessions using large numbers of UAD hardware emulations.

This card includes the Universal Audio Analog Classics plug-in bundle. Multiple UAD-2 devices can be combined within the same system, including additional UAD-2 PCIe cards, UAD Satellites, and Apollo interfaces.
