access-virus-ti-polar-digital-synthesizer-68515
Access Virus TI Polar Rescue w/ All New Tacts + New Battery

This synth sold on 2-12-206.

SOLD: Access Virus TI Polar in perfect functional and good cosmetic condition. This unit is a rescue that was in rough shape when it came into our possession. We could have returned it for a full refund, as it was misrepresented by the seller, but instead decided to do our best to restore it. While not perfect, this synth still presents nicely and of course it works perfectly :)

Details below:

All 43 tact switches in this unit have been replaced with new, brand-name tact switches rated for 1 million clicks. They are all very responsive, like-new.
2 bent pots were replaced with clones generally indistinguishable from the ALPS RK11 original pots
The bottom C key was replaced, and all other keys were whitened to match (the key was broken). The keybed came out quite nicely.
The side panels were sanded down, refinished with several coats of silver metallic matte and given 3 clear coats of enamel. They were trashed to begin with, so we are quite happy with how they came out. The finish is a touch more metallic than the OEM finish, but the color is spot on. Note, the feel is a bit rougher than the OEM smooth finish. It's very much like (and perhaps even identical) to the finish on the Virus Indigo. Not sandpaper, but not glass either. You can definitely feel some texture.
Several rust spots on the inside and outside of the bottom plate were sanded away and resealed with Rust-Oleum Clear Enamel (inside) and Rust-Oleum Satin White (outside). Thus, all rust has been arrested and sealed, and should pose no further issues.
All knobs and buttons have been whitened and properly cleaned. They look and feel as good as new.
The LCD bezel has been polished. Note there are some deeper scratches in the right side we could not polish away. They are visible in the display close-ups, but do not really detract from the look.
4 OEM-style rubber feet were added to the bottom plate. No feet were present when we purchased the unit.
A new Energizer 2032 lithium cell was installed. You should not need to worry about the battery for ~10 years.
The operating system was updated to the latest (5.1.7)
There are a number of imperfections in the finish, especially on the back of the unit and around the Access Virus logo on the top-left corner of the faceplate. While unfortunate, we don't feel we can address without making things worse. The unit still presents nicely overall, but please examine all photos carefully (especially 21-24), as we have done our best to document the condition. Also note, there are 2 smooth/shiny spots below the pitch/mod wheel that we cannot photograph. There was some heavy staining of some sort here. We decided to remove carefully with some wet sanding and 2000 grit sandpaper instead of leaving. Not perfect, but way better than where it started. There are also a few minor imperfections in the front wood piece and some blemishes in the refinished side panels on the bottom inside back where the I/O board is, as well as the inside of the front left corner (very minor, see photo 26).

The Virus TI is an iconic monster of a polyphonic, multitimbral analog modeling synth. With 64 waveforms, 72 wavetables, 2 filters, 3 LFOs, an advanced mod matrix, a full suite of effects and more, the sonic possibilities are virtually endless. The TI has up to 80 voices of polyphony and is 16 parts multitimbral, with 3 stereo outs, as well as audio streaming over USB via the Total Integration VST (VST, AU, AAX), which is an absolute thing of beauty in supported operating systems (the audio streams act like soft synths within your DAW, allowing you to EQ, send FX, or pile on plugins to create unique sounds during tracking).

Mac users, please do your homework before purchasing. The Total Integration app is not compatible with the latest versions of macOS. The app works perfectly in Windows 10 (the Total Integration is an absolute thing of beauty in Windows 10 / Cubase 15). Users report it also works fine in Windows 11, but we have not personally tested this.

Sale includes the synth, white power cable, and a new 6-ft USB cable.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0631/8378/2006/files/1_8f0ec0e2-af64-4d06-ad78-71adbc64065c.jpg?v=1769295401
