Access Virus B Desktop, All New Tacts, Power Filter Cap, Battery, Custom Wood Sides + PSU, OS 4.9

For sale: Access Virus B Desktop digital synthesizer in excellent condition. This unit came to us with no sides, so we created some custom cherry wood sides with ebony stain and satin finish. Along the way it also received all new tact switches, a new battery, a new power supply filter capacitor, and a thorough cleaning inside and out.

Details below:

All 30 tact switches have been replaced with high-quality, brand-name tacts. All are perfect and responsive, like new. See photo 17.
All pots are smooth and work flawlessly.
The original Nichicon power supply filter capacitor in this unit was replaced with a new Panasonic EEU-FR1E101. The Panasonic capacitor's high ripple current handling and low ESR help minimize heat and ensure exceptional reliability and performance for all downstream components in this B Desktop.
The battery has been replaced with a new Energizer CR2032 lithium cell. You should not need to replace the battery for ~10 years.
Updated to the latest OS (4.9).
The unit has been cleaned thoroughly inside and out. Even the knobs have been cleaned and look new. No white or greasy buildup like you see on many Viruses from this era.
Custom cherry wood sides with ebony stain. The tint falls somewhere between black and dark espresso and complements the red faceplate nicely. We now have a decent pair of spare OEM wood sides we are happy to swap in at the buyer's request.
Sale includes a new high-quality power supply that runs at 9V 2.0A. This unit was originally photographed with a 12V power supply, but we are no longer shipping Bs or Cs with 12V adapters, as the 9V adapters are more than adequate and allow the synth to run much cooler, especially during extended sessions.
There are a number of scratches and blemishes in the finish. The overall look is clean, but we wanted to fully disclose. Please see photos 18-24. Also notice the faint scratch in the lower left red paint in photos 3-4. Please examine all photos carefully, as we have done our best to capture the condition.

With all tacts replaced, along with the rest of the restoration work done, this beautiful B is well prepared for a second life with its new owner.
